|Riverside PTO's annual auction was a big success again this year. Many thanks to the organizers who work tiredlessly for our school. Thanks to all who attended the auction. A special thanks to all the businesses and parents who donated items. PTO uses the proceeds of the auction to fund many things at the school which benefit our students and teachers.
A heartfelt thank you to all who participated in the auction and PTO!
|Stop the summer slide! Parents, did you know that many elementary students experience a learning loss over the summer? Struggling readers typically experience a bigger slide than than other students. How can you help? Here are four ways to help your reader and writer this summer:
1. Make weekly trips to the library. Sign up for their summer reading program which offers rewards.
2. Have your child pick at least one book a week to read out loud to you.
3. Encourage your child to read in bed. Some parents allow their children to stay up later if they are reading. It's also a good way for your child to wind down after an active day.
4. Purchase an inexpensive camera and/or notebook. Have your child make a picture journal of summer experiences.
