Yearly Themes for Our Integrated Curriculum

After five years of planning, experimenting and implementing, the staff at Riverside has settled on three themes that work for an all around curriculum for children ranging in age from five to eleven years. The following is a brief description of the three year long school wide themes that Riverside utilizes.

People of Our Past -- This historical theme focuses on some of the significant groups of people in American history. We begin with an introductory section in which each student takes a look at the important people from their own past.

People of the World -- This cultural arts theme focuses on various cultures as we travel the world visiting all seven continents.

People of Impact -- This theme allows the integration of history and cultural arts in a more topical manner. Students spend time studying various groups of people.
